Where Are the Women?

In politics it may be the “Year of the Woman” but not so at KABC Talk Radio. I’ve read Claudia Puig’s pieces about the changes at the station and my first question: Where are the women in KABC’s new weekday lineup? And where are the people of color?
To me, a radio station’s prime responsibility is to serve the community. Is the richly varied community of Los Angeles adequately served by a radio station that provides only white males as hosts?
We the people own the airwaves, and we the people should be better served. We need a better balance everywhere if we are to “Rebuild L.A.” into a healthier, more equitable place.
