Nike broke off its sponsorship deal with Katrin Krabbe, the world women’s sprint champion from Germany who is awaiting a four-year ban for failing a drug test. The sportswear company also abandoned a similar deal with Grit Breuer, Krabbe’s teammate who also tested positive for a banned substance. Krabbe, the 100- and 200-meter world champion, and Breuer, the 400-meter European champion and world silver medalist, tested positive for Clenbuterol, a muscle-building substance.
