Rep. Robert Lagomarsino (R-Ventura) has called on the leaders of Vietnam and Laos to allow POW-MIA investigators greater access to documents and witnesses in their countries.
In a statement released Wednesday, Lagomarsino said that only through complete access to archival records and witnesses in the Southeast Asian countryside “will we be able to make substantial progress” in tracking down American soldiers captured or killed during the Vietnam War.
Lagomarsino, chairman of the House POW-MIA Task Force, also said he will continue to “follow up every lead” on missing American soldiers. Lagomarsino was defeated in the June 2 primary and will leave Congress in early January.
