My wife and I decided to acquire cable because Arts & Entertainment was showing Jean Marsh’s and Eileen Atkins’ “The House of Eliott†(July 12).

Cable at last! Here was our opportunity to throw away the shackles of the networks. But oh, what a disappointment A&E; turned out to be. As magnificent as “The House of Eliott†was, it was nonetheless marred by a barrage of commercials worse than anything seen on the networks.
