STUDIO CITY : Man Slain in Alley During Drug Deal

A Van Nuys man was shot to death in an alley behind a Studio City liquor store, apparently after a drug deal went awry, Los Angeles police said Thursday.
Jose Andrade Lopez, 29, was shot once in the chest about 9 p.m. Wednesday at Moorpark Street and Whitsett Avenue, said Detective Jess Castillo. He died about 10:30 p.m. at Holy Cross Hospital in Mission Hills.
Several minutes before the shooting, Lopez drove into the alley, where he met several men who apparently were selling drugs, Castillo said.
“It appeared he was involved in a drug transaction with two other men, one of whom produced a revolver and shot him,” Castillo said.
