Pomona : Listing of Historic Buildings
The City Council has hired a consulting firm to compile a list of Pomona buildings of historic significance.
Members of Pomona Heritage, who urged the council to authorize the survey, said they hope it will lead to an ordinance to control the remodeling and demolition of historically valuable buildings. The council rejected such an ordinance early last year but agreed to a survey to identify buildings and areas of historic importance.
The city will pay March and Associates of Santa Ana $14,500 for the survey, which will inventory all pre-1940 buildings to select those of historic significance.
