Bush OKs Bill Easing Rules on Food and Drug Labels

WASHINGTON — President Bush signed a measure Tuesday relaxing a requirement for metric measurements on food and drug labels. The amendment will allow food and drug manufacturers to use inches and pounds or metric measurements on new labels required by February, 1994, under the Fair Packaging and Labeling Act.
