PANORAMA CITY : Store Clerk Fatally Shot in Holdup
A grocery store clerk, shot during a holdup in a Panorama City parking lot, drove several blocks before dying behind the steering wheel of his car, Los Angeles police said Tuesday.
Ronnie Vasquez, 24, of Panorama City was leaving his job at the Grocery Warehouse in the 14600 block of Parthenia Street about 11:50 p.m. Monday when he was confronted by three men who apparently tried to rob him, Sgt. Daniel Honey said.
One of the men shot Vasquez several times in the upper torso.
Wounded and apparently trying to escape, Vasquez drove out of the parking lot to the back of a business in the 14500 block of Titus Street, where he was found dead by a passerby, Honey said.
Police were searching for suspects Tuesday.
