RETAIL : Ikea, Conran’s Habitat Filling Space Left by Furniture Firms That Folded
Even though the recession has taken an especially heavy toll on established furniture companies--RB Furniture and Barker Bros. were two well-known retailers that went belly up--others are starting to fill the void.
Ikea, by all accounts, has been doing a terrific business at Tustin Market Place. And now, farther north at Brea Mall, comes Conran’s Habitat.
The new store, which opened July 14, carries a full line of furniture, despite being only a fourth the size of the company’s flagship store in Los Angeles.
