Rockwell International Corp. on Monday reported a 19% drop in fiscal third-quarter earnings, led by profit declines in its electronics, aerospace and graphics businesses.
In the three months ended June 30, Rockwell earned $122.6 million, or 55 cents per share, compared to $151.4 million, or 65 cents, in the same period last year.
Sales fell to $2.7 billion from $3 billion.
The aerospace-based conglomerate, which builds the B-1 bomber and space shuttle, said there were a number of reasons for the drop, including a big decline in the newspaper printing press market and less space shuttle work after completing the orbiter Endeavour last year.
