Bobby Rahal won the pole position for today’s Molson-Indy race with a record-breaking qualifying lap at Toronto.
With the pole up for grabs after Friday’s qualifying was rained out, Rahal posted a time of 108.431 and followed with a lap of 108.505, breaking Mario Andretti’s year-old track record of 108.469.
Emerson Fittipaldi was second at 108.416, and Andretti finished third at 108.390.
