Phil Nevin of Cal State Fullerton hit two home runs, including a grand slam during an eight-run first inning, as the U.S. Olympic team beat the Korean national team, 10-4, at Baltimore.
Team USA got 13 hits, three by Nevin, and is 15-9 in a 30-game tour leading up to the Olympics.
Nevin, top pick of the Houston Astros in the June free agent draft, went three for five to improve his batting average to .384. He has six homers and 19 runs batted in.
The victory gave Team USA a 2-1 lead in the five-game series against the Koreans. The teams play today at Charlotte, N.C., and Monday at Richmond, Va.
