Saturday is Independence Day. The following will be closed in observance of the holiday:

City, state and federal offices will be closed Friday. Orange County offices will be closed on Saturday only; call local offices to confirm hours of operation.

County, state and federal courthouses will be closed Friday.

City and county libraries will be closed Saturday.

Banks and savings and loans will be closed Saturday. Pomona Savings will also be closed Monday.

Schools: There will be no summer school classes Friday and school offices, including those at colleges and universities, will be closed. Fullerton College will also be closed Monday; call school districts to confirm.

Mail: There will be no mail delivery Saturday. All post offices will be closed, and mail deposited in mailboxes on that day will be picked up according to the posted holiday schedule.

Trash: There will be no interruption of trash pickup by city or county refuse workers Saturday, except in the city of Orange. For Orange residents, trash usually collected on Saturday will be picked up on the next regularly scheduled collection day.

Buses: Orange County Transit District buses will run on the holiday schedule Saturday and Sunday. There will be no dial-a-ride or car-pool services available on Saturday.

Parks: All city- and county-run parks and recreation facilities

will be open during regular hours Saturday.
