Woman Gets 6 Years in Boyfriend’s Death
An El Cajon woman was sentenced to six years in state prison Tuesday for participating in the murder of her live-in boyfriend, who was fatally shot by her other lover.
Sheri Lynn Garcia, 27, pleaded guilty in May to voluntary manslaughter.
Her boyfriend, Kevin Roberts, 28, is serving 30 years to life after pleading guilty to first-degree murder in a plea bargain that prevented prosecutors from seeking the death penalty.
The pair admitted taking part in the May 28, 1991, murder of Richard Drake.
Drake was shot in the back with two guns and was stabbed in the back several times.
