LOS ANGELES : DWP Revives Program to Replace Wasteful Toilets
- Share via
Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers can cash in their old water-wasting toilets again beginning Wednesday when the DWP initiates the second phase of its Ultra-Low-Flush Toilet Rebate Program.
The program offers customers up to $100 per toilet for every standard toilet replaced with a DWP-approved water-saving toilet.
Gerald A. Gewe, director of water resources planning, said that the first phase had to be suspended in October, 1991, because of a shortage of funds. He said that the installation of a low-flush toilet can reduce residential water consumption by 10%.
