Darren Gravley of Laguna Beach High has committed to play basketball at Claremont-Mudd next season, said his father, Gene.
Gravley, a 6-foot point guard and a two-time first-team All-Pacific Coast League pick, chose Claremont-Mudd over UC Davis, UC San Diego and Colorado College.
Gravley is the top point guard prospect for Claremont-Mudd, a Division III school that does not offer athletic scholarships.
Gravley had a 4.3 grade-point average and was the Orange County basketball scholar-athlete recipient. He averaged 18.5 points and five assists for the Artists, as well as shooting 47% from three-point range and 80% from the free-throw line.
