2 Teen-Agers Held in Kindergartner’s Shooting on Bus
NEW HAVEN, Conn. — Two teen-agers were arrested Thursday in the shooting of a kindergartner who was critically wounded when his school bus was caught in a gun battle between two gangs, authorities said.
The bus was traveling through the high-crime Hill section Wednesday when bullets struck the vehicle and broke several windows. One bullet hit Cesar Sandoval, 6, in the head. He remained in critical condition Thursday.
A 15-year-old boy was charged with first-degree assault, criminal attempt to assault and reckless endangerment in the shooting, Sgt. Everett Nichols said. A second boy, age 17, was arrested later.
