Hughes Hires Selling Help: Hughes Aircraft Co. said Wednesday that it has hired Hambrecht & Quist Inc., a San Francisco investment bank, to help solicit bids for its Interconnect Systems Division here.
Hughes officials said earlier that the division is up for sale, in part because Hughes is de-emphasizing its business as a components supplier and focusing on building complete systems.
The division sells electronic connection devices for both military and commercial equipment. In Irvine, the division employs 400 people. Revenue in 1991 was slightly less than $100 million, the company said.
