Noe Najera, a left-handed pitcher from Cypress College and North Carolina State, signed with the Cleveland Indians on Monday, Cypress Coach Scott Pickler said.
Najera, who also played at Norwalk High School, will report to the Indians’ Class-A team in Watertown, N.Y., in the New York-Penn League later this week.
He was the starting pitcher but didn’t get the decision when Cypress beat Sacramento City, 8-7, in 11 innings to win the State title in 1991.
