Voges Gets Well With a 71 but Misses Cut at Memorial
- Share via
Although he rebounded from his disastrous opening round in the Memorial golf tournament in Dublin, Ohio, with a 1-under-par 71 on Saturday, Mitch Voges of Simi Valley trailed the leaders by 24 strokes and failed to make the cut of 1 over par.
Voges, playing in the tournament because he is the defending U.S. Amateur champion, shot an 87 Thursday and trailed the field. He was unable to complete his second round until Saturday morning because rain and lightning forced suspension of play Friday with 33 golfers still on the course.
