Cerritos Valley Christian scored nine runs in the bottom of the sixth inning as the Crusaders defeated Agoura Oak Park High, 11-5, capturing their first Southern Section Division 1-A championship, at Cal State Fullerton.
Oak Park led, 5-2, after five innings, but had to remove pitcher Jeff Gibbons, who had pitched five innings in Tuesday’s semifinal. The Southern Section allows a pitcher only 10 innings each week.
