South Pasadena : Anti-Graffiti Measures OKd

A program to offer a $500 reward to anyone who provides information leading to the conviction of any graffiti vandal in South Pasadena was instituted last week.
In the 5-0 vote Wednesday, the City Council also instructed the city staff to seek restitution from convicted graffiti vandals for the city’s $500 reward outlay under the state’s restitution law.
The reward program is the first part of what is expected to be a series of actions by the council to curb South Pasadena’s escalating graffiti problem.
At future meetings, the council will consider the purchase of graffiti removal equipment for city crews and the implementation of a “graffiti hot line” for citizens to report vandalized locations.
