Basketball Fans Scurry as Miner and Murray Leave School in Hurry

Harold Miner said he has decided to repay USC $60,000 for his full scholarship. That part of the story irks me.
Why should he repay this wealthy school?
USC has already made millions off Miner’s incredible ability to play basketball. They have already recouped that $60,000 many times over.
Who is Miner’s agent? Why not take that $60,000 and donate it to Rebuild L.A. or some similar type of fund to rebuild the areas around USC and Inglewood? That money would do a lot more for those neighborhoods than at USC.
