SPEED ZONE: If you’re going to Newport Beach today with your skates, bike or skateboard, watch out. Police will begin patrolling the boardwalk with radar speed guns. . . . Reacting to residents’ complaints, the City Council has imposed an 8-m.p.h. speed limit along the oceanfront sidewalk. . . . Officers will be issuing warnings, but come summer, you could wind up with a ticket.
