Exxon Co. U.S.A. to Trim Staff 10%-12%: The company said it will cut its salaried work force by at least 1,000 people in an effort to improve the company’s efficiency and competitiveness. The domestic oil and gas division of Exxon Corp. said the cuts are part of an effort to cope with “sluggish product demand, low oil and natural gas prices and sharply limited access to the nation’s best potential reserves.” The company said the job reductions will be achieved through voluntary severance and involuntary terminations.
