What the Bard Wrote

An accelerating illiteracy rate and a much maligned William Shakespeare, whose birthday we recently celebrated, compel me to correct a misquote attributed to him in Sylvie Drake’s review, “Richard II: No Great Shakes” (April 24). In it she quotes, incorrectly, the line: “I wasted time and now time wasteth me.” The correct line is: “I wasted time, and now doth time waste me.”
