* Raymond Levy, chairman of French state-owned car maker Renault since 1985, said Thursday that he will step down May 23. Levy didn’t identify his successor. Louis Schweitzer, Renault’s managing director, is considered the front-runner.

Levy will turn 65 in June, the mandatory retirement age for top executives of France’s nationalized companies.
