Orange Coast’s Nelson, Ebert, Trani Receive Orange Empire Softball Honors

Orange Coast College, which won its first Orange Empire Conference softball title, made a clean sweep when it came time for postseason honors.
Alisha Nelson of the Pirates was selected conference pitcher of the year, first baseman Shannon Ebert was named player of the year, and Nick Trani was chosen coach of the year.
Nelson and Ebert were also first-team all-conference selections last year.
Rounding out the first team: pitchers Angie Guerrero (Fullerton) and Leigh Sager (Cypress); catcher Kim Fritts (Fullerton); infielders Sam Lutsch (OCC), Kathy Shortall (OCC), Carrie Frederick (Cypress) and Shannon O’Rourke (Rancho Santiago), and outfielders Wendy Clemens (Saddleback), Christine Wagy (Riverside) and Tina Trujillo (Rancho Santiago).
The second team: pitchers Jennifer Jourden (Saddleback), Celeste Gordon (Rancho Santiago) and Glae Copeland (Riverside); catcher Becky Toler (OCC); infielders Priscilla Sarmiento (Cypress), Lisa Bedgood (Golden West), Brandi Stephenson (Riverside), Corrie Yauney (Saddleback), and outfielders Nikkanni Andrews (Cypress), Becky Elcock (Orange Coast), Autumn Kennedy (Riverside) and Jennifer Johnson (Cypress).
