NASDAQ to Begin After-Hours Session: In a competitive move against the nation’s stock exchanges, the computerized NASDAQ market said it will extend its trading hours to 5:15 p.m. Eastern time from 4 p.m. by the middle of June. It will also open 30 minutes earlier at 9 a.m. A starting date for the longer trading day has not been announced, said James Spellman, a spokesman for the National Assn. of Securities Dealers, which runs the nation’s over-the-counter market.
