Laguna Beach Festival of Arts’ “Portrait of the Artist” film series:
Today: , “An Angel at My Table” (1991), about New Zealand writer Janet Frame, directed by Jane Campion.
May 14: “Vincent and Theo” (1990), on the life of Vincent van Gogh, directed by Robert Altman.
May 21: “Let’s Get Lost” (1989), a documentary on the life of jazz trumpeter Chet Baker, directed by Bruce Weber.
May 28: “Caravaggio” (1986), a biography of Italian Renaissance painter Michelangelo da Caravaggio, directed by Derek Jarman.
All movies will screen at 7:30 p.m. at the Forum Theater, Festival of Arts grounds, 650 Laguna Canyon Road, Laguna Beach. $4 and $5. (714) 494-1145.
