OXNARD : Harbor Board Seeks to Fill Vacant Seat
The Oxnard Harbor District is accepting nomination papers from individuals interested in filling the unexpired term of departing commissioner Bob H. Jennings.
Each candidate must be a registered voter and a resident of the district, which includes Oxnard, Port Hueneme and some unincorporated beach areas. The position on the five-member board becomes vacant Friday and will expire Jan. 4, said Port Director Anthony Taormina.
Qualified applicants will be interviewed by the Board of Harbor Commissioners at its May 20 meeting. The board is expected to name Jennings’ replacement that night, Taormina said.
Jennings announced last week that he was leaving the post to move to Palm Springs.
Applications can be picked up at the Harbor District’s office at 105 E. Port Hueneme Road, Port Hueneme.
