College Speech and Debate Team Wins Tournament
LONG BEACH — The speech and debate team from Long Beach City College won first place in individuals events for small schools at the Phi Rho Pi National Speech Tournament and Convention held recently in St. Louis.
The speech team competed against participants from 42 other colleges. Representing LBCC were Lisa Wayne of Huntington Beach, Andrew Kelsey and Alecs Vildosa of Lakewood, and Waynee Leonard and David Peng of Long Beach.
