A gunman opened fire inside a City of Industry movie theater Wednesday night during a showing of “American Me,” killing a 17-year-old boy and critically wounding a 20-year-old woman while 25 moviegoers sought cover, authorities said Thursday.
Killed in the 11:15 p.m. shooting at the Puente Mall 4 AMC Theater was Marco Facio of La Puente, sheriff’s investigators said. Facio’s companion, whose name was withheld, was in stable condition Thursday at a San Gabriel Valley hospital.
AMC Theaters offered a $1,000 reward for information relating to the arrest and conviction of the gunman, said Greg Rutkowski, a vice president with the Century City-based chain.
The shooting occurred one hour into the movie. AMC employees reported that the killer left the theater, went outside, re-entered by displaying his ticket stub and then shot Facio and his companion, Rutkowski said.
