Arthur Ashe, AIDS, and Media Pressure

Arthur Ashe has experienced yet another blow on “A Hard Road to Glory.” Not glory for himself, but for those that would follow. Ashe has paved the road by becoming an outstanding tennis champion; focusing the spotlight on apartheid policies in South Africa; serving as U.S. Davis Cup captain; persevering for scholastic excellence in youth; and helping to found the Assn. of Tennis Professionals and the Arthur Ashe Youth Center. He will continue to share his tennis experience unselfishly with his invaluable written works.
