OXNARD : Man Charged With Threatening Witness
An 18-year-old Oxnard man has been arraigned on a charge that he threatened a witness in a murder case, police said Monday.
Jaime Sanchez was charged in court Friday with intimidation of a witness, Oxnard Police Detective Daniel O. Christian said.
Sanchez, an alleged member of the Lemonwood Gang in Oxnard, was arrested Wednesday after a student at Channel Islands High School reported that Sanchez threatened him for speaking to police about a slaying near an Oxnard convenience store.
The student, whose identity was withheld, spoke with police about Robert Truitt, 19, also of Oxnard, who is charged with murder in the March 19 slaying of Manuel Albis outside Dorija’s Market on East Channel Islands Boulevard.
Sanchez was being held at the Ventura County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail. A preliminary hearing is set April 15.
