162 TO GO: The California Angels open the season Tuesday in Anaheim Stadium against Chicago, and the expected crowd of 32,000 has reason for optimism: April is the only month in which the team, on average, wins more than half its games. . . . Unfortunately, through 31 seasons, it has been downhill from there. During May, only 47% of games have been victories. And September, when pennants are won or lost, is worst of all: 42%.
