PLATFORM : Action, Not Words

Although my efforts are small scale, with no government funding, the rewards are great. In allowing these kids a chance to swing a hammer and rehabilitate these homes in their neighborhood, a sense of pride takes over, with other doors of opportunity coming into view. They take so much pride in their work that I can assure you that once one of these homes is rehabilitated, no one would dare spray graffiti or vandalize it.
I know this program could easily be expanded to any urban area. But these kids don’t want government bureaucracy. They don’t want faceless government officials telling them that there are programs available, just sign here.
No, these kids want action. They will work, but they need the role model. They need the person who will sweat and work alongside them. I’m just one man.
Our youth need action, not words.
