Five More Years: NBC News has signed “Today” co-anchor Katie Couric to a new five-year contract that will double her salary to more than $1 million a year. Couric had been working under a four-year contract that still had two years to go when NBC approached her lawyer several weeks ago about renegotiating a long-term deal. Since she first signed on board the morning show about a year ago, ratings have increased by about 38%.
