Stewart replaces Mark Rivadeneyra, who resigned at the end of last season to become the girls’ coach at San Clemente.
Stewart coached the boys’ team at Laguna Beach from 1988-90. He also coached the girls’ team in 1990-1991.
He is currently the men’s coach at Rancho Santiago College.
A graduate of Laguna Beach, Stewart has also been an assistant coach on the men’s team at UC Irvine.
