A woman covered with blood flagged down police Wednesday night after her boyfriend allegedly cut her 3-month-old daughter’s head and then stabbed the mother in the leg, police said.
The woman was carrying her baby shortly before 11 p.m. as she fought with her boyfriend in the 500 block of 26th Street in Golden Hill, police spokesman Bill Robinson said. The man stabbed at the woman, but the blade hit the baby, who suffered a small cut on her head.
The man then stabbed the woman in the leg, Robinson said. She was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center for treatment and her baby was rushed to Children’s Hospital where she was diagnosed with a small skull fracture.
The man was arrested on suspicion of assault, Robinson said.
