Former Pomona Player Chooses Football

A year after being selected as The Times San Gabriel Valley player of the year for the second season in a row, former Pomona High forward Johnny McWilliams is no longer competing in basketball.
But the 6-foot-5, 215-pound McWilliams appears to have a future as a tight end with the USC football team. McWilliams, who red-shirted as a freshman last season, also played quarterback for Pomona as a senior.
