A pipe bomb that exploded outside a Lancaster home early Saturday shattered glass and destroyed the home’s air conditioner but caused no injuries, Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies said.
Investigators were not immediately able to determine a motive for the bombing at the house on the 500 block of East Avenue K-4, Deputy Benita Hinojos said.
The occupants of the house--Ronald L. McCallister, 28; his twin brother, Randy; his girlfriend, Lisa Graves, 24, and their 3-year-old daughter, Shawn Graves--were asleep when the bomb detonated at 12:05 a.m. in the side yard, Hinojos said. The 10-inch-long bomb, which measured two inches in diameter, caused an estimated $6,000 in damage, she said.
