I am in total disagreement with any sympathy Mike Downey (March 13) has for Bo Jackson or any other disabled player. I would not wish their injuries on anyone, however . . .
What other American worker has a payroll plan that pays full salary regardless if they work or not? These million-dollar babies make in a year what the average fan might make in a lifetime.
And if Bo Jackson did not complete college, he will certainly have no difficulty doing so now. No worry about student loans, whether his family can make it on his wife’s salary or who will provide quality child care.
