The Oxnard City Council has accepted an $848,000 bid from a Santa Barbara construction company to build a gymnasium in Colonia Memorial Park.
The Frank Schipper Construction Co. will build the 11,000-square-foot facility, the council decided this week. The park will contain a 200-seat basketball gymnasium and will primarily be used by neighborhood youth basketball leagues. The main entrance will face Marquita Street.
Once the contract is formally awarded in April, the company will have eight months to complete the project, officials said.
