USC, UCLA, Pepperdine to Be Shown on Local TV

USC, UCLA and Pepperdine will be shown live on Channel 2 when they play first-round games in the NCAA basketball tournament Thursday and Friday.

Eighth-ranked USC’s Midwest Regional game against Northeast Louisiana at Milwaukee will be telecast Thursday at about 7:40 p.m. It will be shown after the West Regional’s 5 p.m. game between Louisiana State and Brigham Young at Boise, Ida.

Dick Stockton and Al McGuire are scheduled to be the announcers for the Trojan game.

Fourth-ranked UCLA’s West Regional game against Robert Morris at Tempe, Ariz., will be shown Friday at about 7:40 p.m. It will be preceded by the West Regional’s 5 p.m. game between Louisville and Wake Forest.

Brad Nessler and Ann Meyers will announce the UCLA game.

Pepperdine’s Midwest Regional game against Memphis State at Milwaukee will be telecast Thursday at noon, with Stockton and Greg Kelser reporting. It will be preceded by the North Carolina-Miami (Ohio) game at 9 a.m.

If USC beats Northeast Louisiana, the Trojans would face Houston or Georgia Tech Saturday at about 4:15 p.m.

If UCLA advances, it would play Louisville or Wake Forest Sunday at 2 p.m.

If Pepperdine advances, it would play either Arkansas or Murray State Saturday at 1:45 p.m.

All three games would be televised live.

Channel 2 will show four games Saturday and three on Sunday.
