IN THE LAND OF THE DELIGHT MAKERS...
IN THE LAND OF THE DELIGHT MAKERS by Joseph Courtney White (University of Utah Press: $16.95, illustrated). Writer/photographer Joseph White spent two summers working as a volunteer on archeological digs of Anasazi sites in Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico. Drawing on his experiences, he explains how archeologists and anthropologists work in the field: what they look for, what they find, how they catalogue the materials and how they interpret them. He recalls the camaraderie of the intense weeks of research in a handsomely illustrated book that will charm aspiring or would-be scientists.
