COUNTY VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS : Huntington Beach Heads 24-Team Field Saturday

Defending champion Huntington Beach will be among 24 boys’ high school volleyball teams competing Saturday at the Orange County Championships.
Pool play in the eight-team Division I begins at 9 a.m. Saturday at Newport Harbor.
Competing in one pool will be Newport Harbor, Huntington Beach, Irvine and Laguna Beach. Edison, Capistrano Valley, Woodbridge and Corona del Mar will compete in the other pool.
The 16-team Division II begins play at 9 a.m. Saturday at Estancia High.
Playing in Pool 1 will be Esperanza, Estancia, Foothill and Rancho Alamitos. El Toro, Trabuco Hills, El Dorado and Lake Elsinore will be in Pool 2. Pool 3 will be Tustin, Mission Viejo, University and Bolsa Grande. Pool 4 will feature San Clemente, Ocean View, Saddleback and Cypress.
Each match will be best-of-three games. The finals in each division are tentatively scheduled for 6 p.m.
