Film Crews Shooting on Beach

LAGUNA BEACH — The array of trucks, lights and film crews spread around Main Beach this week are busy on two separate projects: a television commercial and a magazine fashion shoot, according to a city spokeswoman.
Most of the equipment at the north end of the beach Thursday belonged to Calmex Productions, a Hollywood-based company filming three commercials at once, one of which was for a non-alcoholic beverage that a spokeswoman declined to identify. The commercials will screen on Mexican television, she said.
At the south end of the beach Thursday was a fashion shoot organized by Western Empire Publishing, the publishers of a surfing and volleyball magazine, said Andrea Stoner, a city Recreation Department spokeswoman.
The fashion shoot was the final day of a two-day project, Stoner said.
