San Diego : City Worker Killed When Hit by Truck

Charles Kubli, a senior civil engineer for the city of Oceanside, was hit and killed by a truck Thursday afternoon as he and two other city employees were working at Mission and North Santa Fe avenues.
Kubli, 46, of Vista, apparently stepped into a traffic lane on Mission, was struck by a truck and died at the scene, city spokesman Larry Bauman said. The driver was not cited.
Before his two years with Oceanside, Kubli worked for the city of Encinitas. He is survived by his wife, Nina, a daughter, Erika, and a son, Dieter.
