Motown Files New Claims: Motown Record Co., which has sued MCA Inc. for allegedly breaching a distribution agreement, filed additional claims in the lawsuit and, for the first time, estimated its damages at more than $60 million. Motown alleges that MCA tried to interfere with its new distribution agreement with PolyGram and destroyed evidence pertinent to the case. MCA, which is countersuing Motown, called Motown’s action a diversionary tactic. MCA said it will also file an amended complaint seeking damages of more than $75 million.
